Ranya vs Motion: Which AI Planner Fits You (2026)

    By Shekib AzizPublished Updated

TL;DR: Pick Ranya if you want tasks, calendar, notes and Gmail in one place that you can run by talking to it, with a free plan that never runs out. Pick Motion if you want AI to build your schedule for you, or you plan projects across a team. Ranya is free or $20 a month; Motion has no free plan, and its lowest listed price is $19 per seat a month for teams billed yearly.

What is the difference between Ranya and Motion?

Both are AI planners, but they start from different ideas. Motion calls itself “The AI Powered SuperApp for Work”. Its core is auto-scheduling: it takes your tasks, priorities and deadlines and places them into time slots on your calendar, then reshuffles when things change. Around that sit projects, docs, meeting booking and a meeting notetaker, for individuals and teams.

Ranya is a voice-first workspace for one person. Tasks, calendar, notes and your Gmail inbox live in one app, and the assistant runs on all of them. The headline is that you can call Ranya from any page and run your day out loud: plan it, add and move tasks, take notes and work through email, without touching the screen.

How do Ranya and Motion compare?

Prices and features as listed on each product’s own site on October 3, 2026. Motion’s figures come from its pricing page and help center, linked in the sources below.

Is Ranya a good Motion alternative?

Yes, if what you want from an AI planner is to talk to it and have your tasks, calendar, notes and email in one place. Motion’s voice support is a Siri shortcut on iOS that adds tasks, and its Gmail support is forwarding emails to Motion to turn them into tasks. Its Inbox is a feed of Motion updates, not your email. In Ranya you read and reply to Gmail without leaving the app, and turn a thread into a task that stays linked to it.

No, if auto-scheduling is the reason you use Motion. Ranya does not rebuild your calendar for you. Every task with a date shows on your calendar, and Ranya can suggest an open time for a task that you place with one tap, but you stay the one deciding where the hours go.

What can you do in Ranya by voice?

Calling Ranya is the feature the app is built around. Tap the Ranya orb at the bottom of any page and talk. On a phone the call opens full screen. You can:

    • Plan the day: “What’s on today, and what should I move to tomorrow?”
    • Create, move and complete tasks, with dates said the way you would say them (“Friday at 3”).
    • Write a note, or add to one you already have.
    • Work through your inbox: hear what needs a reply, and draft one.

Anything that changes your work asks for your approval first. Voice calls use the same AI message allowance as typed chat, so they work on the free plan too.

Which is cheaper, Ranya or Motion?

Ranya. As of October 3, 2026, Ranya’s free plan costs nothing and has no time limit, and Ranya Pro is $20 a month, or $192 a year ($16 a month).

Motion has no free plan. Its pricing page lists two plans, Pro AI and Business AI. On the Individuals tab, Pro AI is $29 a month billed yearly or $49 month to month, and Business AI is $39 or $69. On the Teams tab, Pro AI starts at $19 per seat a month billed yearly. Motion’s free trial asks for billing details up front and places a $1 hold on your card.

    Pick Motion if…

    • You want software to decide when each task happens and rearrange your day when plans change.
    • You plan projects with a team and want timelines, Gantt charts or capacity planning.
    • You want booking links and an AI meeting notetaker in the same tool.
    • You want native iOS and Android apps from the app stores.

    Pick Ranya if…

    • You want to run your whole day by voice, on your laptop or your phone.
    • You want your Gmail inbox, tasks, calendar and notes in one place, linked to each other.
    • You want a free plan that does not expire, and Pro for $20 a month when you need more.
    • You work on your own and want a calm planner rather than a project management suite.
    • You want an assistant that asks before it changes anything.

If you also use Claude, you can connect Ranya to it as an extra way in. Ranya does not need it. See every feature, or start free.
